Steam, blend, and done — homemade baby food without the mess
When our baby started solids, making fresh food every day quickly turned into a pile of pots, a blender to wash, and more containers than we wanted. We started looking for something simpler — and the BEABA Babycook NEO is what we landed on.
It steams and blends in the same bowl. That's really the whole pitch. You put the ingredients in, steam them, blend them to whatever texture your baby is on right now, and you're done. One device. Not much to clean.
The Babycook NEO is a 4-in-1 baby food maker — it steams, blends, reheats, and defrosts. In practice, we mostly use the steam and blend functions, but the reheat and defrost are genuinely useful when you've batch-cooked and frozen portions ahead of time.
Most meals are ready in around 15 minutes, which makes it realistic to cook something fresh even on a busy day.
This was actually one of the main reasons we chose it. The cooking bowl is borosilicate glass and the steam basket is stainless steel — so the food never touches plastic while it's being cooked. For us, that just felt like the right call when preparing food for a baby.
The glass bowl holds 1,250 ml, which is enough to cook a small batch and store a few portions for later. The parts that do contact food are BPA-free and free from phthalates and lead. Nothing fancy — just sensible materials.
Early on, everything needs to be smooth. A few months later, you want more texture. The Babycook NEO handles both — you just blend shorter or longer depending on where your baby is. We've used the same device from first purees through chunkier meals, so it doesn't become redundant quickly.
Most meals are simple:
A carrot.
A sweet potato.
Half an apple.
Steam, blend, done. As your baby gets used to different foods, you start combining things — carrot and potato, apple and pear, zucchini and chicken. Nothing complicated. Just real food, prepared quickly.
Making the meal is one part. Remembering what your baby actually ate — and when — is another. The Babycook NEO helps keep the cooking part quick and simple. MyBabyMealLog helps you keep track of the rest. No analysis, no nutrition scores. Just a straightforward record of what was served.
